The following are the specific instructions for your book report:
1) The report must be between 4 and 5 pages long (not including the
cover page) and should consist of a description of the contents of the
book
(i.e., what is the author's thesis). Use a 12 font. You
may, although it is not
required,
include your analysis or critique of the book. The first
paragraph of the report should give an overall introduction to the book
and it should say something about the author and his/her credentials. Please, do not do a chapter by chapter description.
2) There should be a cover page with your name, the book's title, and the author. This should appear as follows:
Student's Name: (Your name)
Title: (Title of the Book)
Author: (Name of author)
3) For quotations you may use either APA or MLA style. Note: this is a 4-5 page paper so quotes should be used sparingly.4) You will be graded, not only on the substance of the report, but
also on the quality of the writing. I expect a college level,
well-written report.
5) The deadline for the report is April 14. You may, of course, hand
it in before the deadline.
6) The report must be typed and double-spaced. Keep a copy for yourself.
7) Any book that is not on the list (see below) must be approved by the professor. No works of fiction will be approved.
8) Please note the University's policy on plagiarism which can be found at http://www.camden.rutgers.edu/RUCAM/info/Academic-Integrity-Policy.html. The penalty for plagiarism will be strictly enforced.
